Lisa Marie Ludwig stays faithful to the influences that have moved her in the past. Fusing mixed medias and mediums, a world unfolds out of her creative mind, creating a style of her own.

This body of work began on her arrival to New York City in 1996. The elements of both the city and her youth issued a language that describes her experiences and most intimate thoughts loudly and with charm.

Working from memory, dreams, historic/pop cultural symbols, myths and the unconsciousness, Lisa Marie Ludwig is able to create something new that stirs up something familiar and already known within us.

Merging innocence with wisdom, she reflects a dark and quirky world around us and illuminates it. As an artist, she strives to continuously make something magical and positive, even through the most dire subjects, relating human kind to human kindness.

All of Lisa Marie Ludwig's work is improvisational, and she enjoys collaborations with other artists. The more she creates, the more congruent and tangible her work becomes. Each new piece becomes a clue, reflecting the other, better understanding her world and language.
